Achilles has chapters in communities throughout the world. Each local chapter is run by dedicated members and volunteers who generously give their time and energy to recruit participants, organize workouts, and secure funding. To start or run a chapter, you must be an official Athlete member or Volunteer member with Achilles. You can download and complete a membership application or volunteer form, and either fax it to 212-354-3978, Attn: Chapters or email the form as an attachment to firstname.lastname@example.org.
All Achilles chapters within and outside the U.S. operate as affiliates of the Achilles International organization. While each chapter may find a variety of ways to recruit, publicize, and support themselves, all chapters are administered under the same guidelines and all have the same mission: To enable people with all types of disabilities to participate in mainstream athletics in order to promote personal achievement, enhance self esteem, and lower barriers to living a fulfilling life.
