Volunteer with Achilles During the NYC Marathon!

Sunday Nov. 4 at Achilles' Finishers Reunion Area

This is where the excitement is! 

Once our awesome athletes, gregarious guides and fabulous fundraisers complete the 26.2-mile course, they come to this area to relax, retrieve their belongings, and find their friend or family member to accompany them home. You will be there to congratulate them and see they have what they need.

Three shifts are available as follows...
10:30 am to 3:30 pm
1:30 pm to 6:30 pm
3:30 pm to 8:30 pm
Duties range from transfering athletes from handcycles to wheelchairs, assisting athletes into vans, escorting them through the maze, security, crowd control, baggage set-up and retrieval. Van drivers are especially needed!

If you can spare five hours of your time on the big day, please send an email to ecox@achillesinternational.org - in the message include the shift you'd like to volunteer for, your first and last name, preferred email address for contact, and a cell phone number.

Large groups are especially welcome, but those under 18-years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

The Achilles Finishers Reunion Area is located on West 72nd St at Central Park West. It's best to approach from Columbus Avenue. Come to the volunteers table, sign in, don a safety vest and be part of the Achilles marathon experience!

You will receive confirmation of your commitment in email form provided it is received by 5pm on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012.  A reminder email with specific directions will be sent the morning of Tuesday, Oct. 30.
