The Chicago chapter of Achilles International transforms the lives of people with disabilities through athletic programs and social connection. Since 1983, Achilles International has empowered over 150,000 athletes of all ages and ability levels to participate in endurance events around the globe. Learn more about our Chicago chapter below.

Meeting Info: Thursdays, 6:00 PM -7:30 PM and on Saturdays, 9:30 AM -11:00 AM (Starting on May 9)

Whether your goal is to race a mile for the first time ever, go for a weekly walk or ride in the park with a new community of friends or to reach the podium at the Abbott World Marathon Majors, Achilles wants to help you succeed.

We welcome people of all ages living with a disability, including but not limited to those who live with:

  • Blindness or low vision

  • Deafness or hard of hearing

  • Cognitive, developmental and intellectual disabilities

  • Lower limb deficiency

  • Multiple sclerosis

  • Cerebral palsy

  • Spinal cord injuries

  • Traumatic brain injuries

  • We also serve and welcome military veterans

Our Programs Serve

    Children with Disabilities

    Achilles Kids includes a school-based run to learn program across the U.S. and in-person workouts in select cities.

    Adults with Disabilities

    Through our 70 chapters around the world, we host organized weekly workouts and provide access to racing opportunities and adaptive equipment. We also offer triathlon training and entries through our TriAchilles team.
