Position Title: New Jersey Chapter Lead

Position purpose:
Each Achilles Chapter is led by a Chapter Lead, responsible for delivering high-quality workouts for children, adults, veterans with disabilities, and hand cyclists while overseeing the overall operations of the Chapter. The Chapter Lead manages all key functions— development, recruitment, communications, and events — with support and guidelines from HQ. The Chapter Lead will work collaboratively with NJ volunteer leadership, and report directly to the VP of US Programming. The candidate must reside in New Jersey and come into the NYC office at least twice a month.
Major Responsibilities:
Chapter Operations: Oversee all operations for the New Jersey chapter, with current locations in Rochelle Park, Jersey City, Cranford, and Monmouth County and other future targeted locations to expand chapter’s reach and impact, ensuring smooth execution of weekly workouts and community events. This includes ongoing maintenance and support of adaptive equipment. Attend multiple chapter workouts per week, supporting a volunteer leadership structure to maintain and grow the workouts and races.
Administration: Manage chapter finances within budget, track revenue and expenses, oversee member registration, track attendance at workouts and races, and ensure timely community communications. Maintain appropriate liability and compliance protocols. Oversee ordering of supplies (e.g., apparel) and manage any part-time employees assisting with chapter operations.
Event and Race Coordination: Plan and execute annually the NJ Hope & Possibility fundraising race in the fall. Work in collaboration with volunteer leadership to continue to increase local race participation for Achilles members, support management of athletes participating in major races within the Marathon Tour, and ensure seamless athlete and volunteer experiences.
Fundraising and Partnerships: Work in collaboration with volunteer leadership as they continue to implement strategies to secure financial support from individuals through donor cultivation, engagement, solicitation, and fundraising events. Secure corporate, foundation, and government support through grants and partnerships. Contribute to management of existing corporate, foundation, and government partnerships to support chapter operations and growth.
Athlete and Volunteer Engagement: In collaboration with volunteer leadership, recruit, onboard, and support athletes and volunteers, fostering an inclusive, supportive environment.

Key Competencies:
Consistent and reliable, able to deliver a high quality team event at each workout
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
Detail oriented, organized and adept at managing upcoming events and relevant deadlines, etc
A successful track record (or demonstrated interest in fundraising) of development experience with a focus on increasing support from individuals and grantmaking institutions

Salary Range:
$75,000 - $90,000
